The Área de Proteção Ambiental (Protected area) of Pratigi is located at the south of the Bay of All Saints encompassing municipalities of Ibirapitanga, Igrapiúna, Ituberá, Nilo Peçanha, and Piraí do Norte.
Established in the central location of the Mata Atlântica forest, it was created in April 1998 with the aim of protecting the great beaches that stretch for miles and are made up of rocky, mangrove and remanscences of dense ombriere forests.
It was also an opportunity to help promote the rural and urban development of the municipalities therein.
